The long-standing intrigue surrounding unidentified flying objects (UFOs) is racing towards delivering one of two significant disclosures.
The first possibility suggests an elaborate cover-up by the U.S. government involving UFO retrieval and reverse-engineering activities spanning numerous decades. The second possibility could point to certain factions within the defense and intelligence sectors conducting a sophisticated misinformation operation. Each scenario could dramatically reshape our understanding of democracy, governmental responsibility, and possibly our perception of mankind’s position in the universe.
Given these potential outcomes, it is paramount for Congress and federal law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate a series of striking UFO-related incidents.
Interestingly, the possibility that a host of high-ranking officials with security clearances have accepted long-standing UFO myths and conjecture as fact appears to be increasingly less likely.
In June, David Grusch, a U.S. Air Force veteran and former intelligence official, made a startling claim. He alleged that segments of the U.S. government had been overseeing secret and illegal UFO retrieval and reverse-engineering operations for many years. This claim has since been backed up, to a certain extent, by two defense officials.
Grusch states that he provided a significant amount of highly classified evidence to the internal investigative bodies that oversee the Department of Defense and the U.S. intelligence community. However, he has not shared any of this evidence with the public.
Despite this, the officials and lawmakers who have reviewed Grusch’s classified evidence are taking his extraordinary allegations very seriously.
The intelligence community’s inspector general has found Grusch’s claims that UFO-related information was concealed inappropriately from Congress to be “credible and urgent.” This finding was confirmed by Senate Intelligence Vice Chairman Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
I. Charles McCullough, III, the first inspector general of the intelligence community and now a private practice lawyer, is representing Grusch. It seems highly unlikely that a lawyer of such distinction and a former high-ranking federal official would represent someone making the kind of claims that Grusch has made without convincing evidence.
In a congressional hearing on July 26, when asked whether he believes that the U.S. government possesses UFOs, Grusch confidently responded, “Absolutely, based on interviewing over 40 witnesses over four years.”
Grusch further elaborated, “I know the exact locations [of retrieved UFOs], and those locations were provided to the inspector general and…to the [congressional] intelligence committees.” He went on to assert, “I actually had the people with the first-hand knowledge provide a protected disclosure to the inspector general.”
Considering the legal consequences of perjury when testifying under oath before Congress, it seems unlikely that Grusch would risk lying so blatantly about such specific, verifiable facts.
So, it is plausible to believe that more than three dozen individuals have indeed informed Grusch of a long-running UFO retrieval and reverse-engineering project, and that those with “first-hand knowledge” confirmed this information to the intelligence community’s inspector general.
A possible explanation for Grusch’s assertions is that the individuals he interviewed have come to believe in long-held myths and rumors about highly secret UFO retrieval and reverse-engineering programs. However, given the severe penalties for making false statements to an inspector general, it seems highly unlikely that numerous top-ranking officials with security clearances would falsely claim to have first-hand knowledge of these myths and rumors.
Rubio and Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, have stated that multiple individuals with first-hand knowledge of Grusch’s allegations have spoken to Congress.
This leaves us with two stunning possibilities. Either Grusch’s allegations are accurate, and certain groups both within and outside the U.S. government have been running a decades-long UFO retrieval and reverse-engineering effort, or several esteemed and credentialed current and former government officials are conducting a blatant misinformation campaign.
Key lawmakers are treating Grusch’s allegations with utmost seriousness. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) proposed a measure on July 13 that asserts government control over “any and all recovered technologies of unknown origin…that may be controlled by private persons or entities.” Schumer’s legislation also extensively references “non-human intelligence,” a term frequently used by Grusch to refer to the uncertain origin of allegedly retrieved advanced technology.
In a comprehensive interview, Grusch also claimed that non-human remains have been recovered from UFOs. Schumer’s legislation mandates that any “biological evidence of non-human intelligence” held by private companies be handed over to the federal government “in the interests of the public good.”
On June 22, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), along with Rubio and two other Republican senators, introduced legislation that would immediately stop funding for the types of illegal, undisclosed programs described by Grusch. The bill also instructs individuals with knowledge of such UFO-related activities to disclose all relevant information, offering legal immunity if the information is reported appropriately within a specified timeframe.
Meanwhile, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) are leading a bipartisan initiative to form a select committee to investigate Grusch’s claims.
As Rubio points out, if Grusch’s allegations are correct, there’s a group of people who believe they possess something they don’t need to share with anybody, including elected officials, whom they view as temporary employees of the government. Such a situation would suggest the existence of an internal military complex operating as its own government and being accountable to no one, which would be a significant issue.
